Friends of St Mary's

The Friends of St. Mary’s is an organisation set up for the purpose of supporting the Vicar and PCC to maintain and upkeep the structure and fabric of this magnificent, ancient and historic Church for many generations to come.

 

In 2024 alone the Friends have funded major structural repairs to the tower and tower roof together with the refurbishment of the full complement of ten bells.

For these and other essential repairs invoices have been received for over £80,000.00.

 

The Friends organise several events throughout the year including Christmas and Summer Fayres, Concerts and a Flower Festival in order to raise funds to cover the costs of this essential work.

Additionally there are some social events for our members.

 

Membership of the Friends is available at a cost of £10.00 per annum or £50.00 for life membership. For this you will receive occasional newsletters with the various activities of the organisation.
